Whats up with poker in Poland?

Hi everyone, sorry for writing in english but my polish is very bad and i am unable to write in the language.

When the summer ends i will be moving to Warsaw from Sweden to spend a term as an exchange student. As my main hobby is playing poker i would be glad if anyone could tell me a little about the scene in Poland in general and particularly in Warsaw.

Here in Sweden we have a few casinos but the rake at them is very high and the games are quite big som not too many people play at them. There are also a couple of underground clubs that are run by players and hosts smaller tournaments and cashgames.

I searched the internet and found that there is a cardclub by the name of royal casino so i emailed them some questions but never got any answer. If anyone visited that one please tell me what games are usually played at what limits and how the rake is structured. If you know of any other cardclub please tell me also.

its pretty cool that someone from abroad is interested in our game. Well, at the moment its pretty hard to find good poker game here in Poland. All the guys registered here are playing mostly Hold'em, prefereably No Limit and Pot Limit. At the moment we are running a small weekly game in Katowice in the southern Poland.

About Royal Casino. Well, we all here it, we never been there. Hold'em game has started there pretty recently, so we still never see it. There is one guy registered on this site ("Advisor") who is a manager there, so he will probably provide u with some informations shortly.

Actually, owners of this site are running No Limit Hold'em tournamensts, every six-seven weeks. As we all friends, the buy in ain't high (about 12 euro) and this is Rebuy Tournament. At the end of August we should run the twientieth of those tournaments. If you already will be here in Poland, u r warmly welcomed, but we think that this tournament will be held in Krakow (its 2,5 by train from Warsaw), but at least 5-6 persons will be going there from Warsaw. We expect about 30 people to show up at the tourney.

Hi again

Thanks for the fast reply. I am to arrive in warsaw at about september 15 so i cant make it to the august tournament, but i would love to take part in any event after that. The buyin seems fine since i am playing for fun anyway. I will try to read this forum the best i can and will register as soon as i buy a dictionary so i can fill out the registration forms but it would be nice if someone could either mail me at thomas.frojd.303(at)student.lu.se or PM me at the forum when something goes on in or near warsaw.

By the way my favorite games are NL hold em or PL Omaha but anything goes.
